Harriet Ruth Harman (born 30 July 1950) is a British Labour politician, who has been the Member of Parliament for Camberwell and Peckham since the 1997 general election, having previously been the Member of Parliament for Peckham from a by-election in 1982 until its abolition. In 2007, she became the Deputy Leader and Party Chair of the Labour Party, and currently serves in the Cabinet as Leader of the House of Commons, Lord Privy Seal and Minister for Women and Equality.
